Day by day (May group)

Day 1 — Arrival, Monte Galiñeiro and Vigo

10 km · +350 m

Pick-up at Vigo airport. We start with a route up Monte Galiñeiro, one of the most spectacular natural viewpoints in the Rías Baixas, with unique granite formations and views reaching as far as the Cíes Islands. Next, a meeting with a university philology professor who will tell us about the history of Galicia.

Arrival at the hotel, next to Vigo’s old town, where we’ll spend the first 4 nights. Vigo is well worth discovering at a relaxed pace: the Casco Vello, with its life and its cultural and gastronomic offer, is one of the most authentic corners of the city, besides being very easy to get around logistically. Our guide currently lives in Vigo, so they’ll be able to show you the city and its restaurants almost like a local.

Day 2 — Cíes Islands

15 km · +400 m

We take a boat from the port of Vigo to the Cíes Islands, within Galicia’s Atlantic Islands Maritime-Terrestrial National Park. A route through one of the best-preserved natural areas on the European Atlantic coast.

The sooner you book, the better, to guarantee your place on this route.

Day 3 — Pozas de Mougas and boat trip along the Ría de Vigo

14 km · +500 m

A route through one of the most unique spots of the Costa da Vela: the Pozas de Mougas, natural pools carved into the rock by the sea, surrounded by curros (traditional stone enclosures) and native forest.

Next, an interpretive boat trip along the Ría de Vigo, with views into the seabed and the seafaring tradition of the ría.

Day 4 — Budiño and traditional dance workshop

12 km · +400 m

A route through Budiño, known for its rock walls and well-preserved native forests. In the afternoon, a traditional Galician dance workshop with one of the best teachers in all of Galicia. Last night in Vigo.

Day 5 — Ría de Arousa

10.5 km · +170 m

A packed day: we travel to the Ría de Arousa for a first flat trek around the Isla de Arousa (4.8 km). Then we visit the Castro de Baroña, one of the most important Iron Age hillfort sites in Galicia (5.7 km, 170 m of elevation gain), passing by a spectacular beach along the way. If time allows, we’ll also stop by the Corrubedo Dunes Natural Park.

Arrival at the rural lodge, where we’ll spend the last two nights. A deliberate change of pace: a much calmer setting to connect with nature and slow down before wrapping up the trip.

Day 6 — Praia de Barra and Cabo Home

9 km · +250 m

We set off from the Praia de Barra (one of the best-known naturist beaches in Galicia) and walk to Donón and then on to Cabo Home, passing the Playa de Melide, a true hidden treasure. A day to rest and enjoy the beaches if the weather allows.

Day 7 — Departure

Breakfast and transfer to Vigo airport.

🔄 July group — differences from the May group

  • Day 1: a short walk around Monte Saians (instead of Galiñeiro) + talk with the philology professor.
  • Day 7: we do Monte Galiñeiro before the transfer to the airport (instead of on day 1).
  • Days 2 to 6: identical to the May group.

Seven days across the Galicia that always looks out to sea: islands, rías, hillforts and wild beaches, combined with food, music and the voice of the people who live there.
