OUR MOUNTAIN GUIDES
Enric Piñol Palau
Mid-mountain guide (TD2) and founder of Enriterra. He’s been passionate about the mountains his whole life, and after a few years working in engineering, decided to turn his passion into his new profession. Year after year exploring the Pyrenees and Catalonia’s main mountain ranges. He currently lives between Catalonia and Galicia, combining mountain settings with Galicia’s wild coastline.
On a personal level he has done major treks and ascents around the world — the Andes, the Himalayas, the Greater Caucasus, Patagonia — always with the same outlook: genuinely connecting with the land and the people who live there, while taking on real sporting challenges.
Passionate about snow science, he holds the CAG1 (Avalanche Course, ACNA). He keeps training constantly, and his role is that of an interpreter of the land: sharing the context — geology, flora, fauna, history, traditions, legends — that gives a landscape its meaning.
Xavi Casanovas
Mid-Mountain Guide (UIMLA) and professional chef.
For years he worked in fine-dining restaurants, a stage that gave him rigour, discipline and great attention to detail. Over time, he decided to turn his passion for the mountains into his profession and dedicate himself to guiding.
He grew up in Montserrat, among trails and gullies, a place he considers home and that sparked his love for nature and the mountains. From a young age he trained in mountain sports through the FEEC and the FEDME, combining mountain running, alpinism and long treks.
Over the years he has explored mountain ranges such as the Pyrenees, the Picos de Europa, the Dolomites, the Alps, Iceland and New Zealand — experiences that have enriched his understanding of the mountains.
His goal is to accompany people so they can discover nature in a safe, respectful and authentic way, enjoying the journey with the same passion he brings to every outing.
A team that’s growing
Enriterra started as a small project, but with the intention of growing — not by piling on activities, but by bringing in people who share this way of understanding the profession: interpreting a territory, adapting to the group’s needs, and never ceasing to learn.
Each new guide will bring their own experience and their own way of seeing the mountains. What will never change is the project’s culture.
Collaboration with other professionals
A dialogue between disciplines
Our way of understanding hiking has grown through dialogue with disciplines such as philosophy, psychology, ecology, geology, history and environmental education.
As the project grows, we collaborate with specialised professionals — especially in our new Nature and wellbeing line, where we work hand in hand with psychology, therapy and education. Our role remains guiding and planning; they take on the therapeutic or educational goals of each proposal.
Why hire a certified mountain guide?
It’s not just about reaching the top safely. It’s about coming home knowing how to read the place you’ve walked through a little better. A certified mountain guide brings value that goes far beyond marking the way: knowledge, judgement and real experience on the ground.
Let’s talk?Knowledge of the land
A certified guide turns every outing into a living geography lesson: why that forest grows the way it does, which animals leave tracks there, how each corner of the landscape came to be.
Safety at every step
Weather, logistics and constant terrain assessment are on us, so you can focus solely on enjoying the walk.
Routes off the beaten path
We know places that don’t show up on route apps or social media, and that keep the essence of the land intact.
All the groundwork, taken care of
Choosing the right gear, gauging the effort, adapting to the group’s pace… We prepare everything beforehand so the outing is a pleasure, not a hassle.
Activities for every level
Whether it’s been a while since you’ve walked or you’re after a demanding challenge, you’ll find the activity that fits your fitness — we help you choose it.
